Plan for the way you will retrieve things, not only the way they fit on day one.
A narrow aisle and clear labels often save more time than choosing the smallest possible room.
A small unit can remove the need to take an entire room home for the summer. Start with a shared inventory if you are booking with friends, then decide who will hold the access details and how costs are divided. Compact boxes are better for books; clean and dry kitchen equipment, bedding and sports kit before packing.
Do not store food, plants, liquids that may leak or anything prohibited by the facility. Mark the boxes you need first at the next tenancy and keep them near the front. Confirm your move-out date, likely move-in date and how much flexibility you need before choosing the rental period.
