A USEFUL RULE
Plan for the way you will retrieve things, not only the way they fit on day one.
A narrow aisle and clear labels often save more time than choosing the smallest possible room.
Clean every piece and let it dry fully before packing. Remove loose shelves and detachable legs where practical, then place fixings in labelled bags attached to the correct item. Use breathable furniture covers rather than wrapping upholstery tightly in plastic, which can trap moisture. Protect corners and keep heavy boxes away from soft seating.
Plan the unit before carrying anything inside. Put sturdy, less frequently needed pieces at the back, keep an aisle to items you may need and avoid unstable towers. Photograph valuable furniture and keep an inventory outside the unit. A little preparation makes move-in calmer and means your furniture is far easier to find and reassemble later.
