A USEFUL RULE

Plan for the way you will retrieve things, not only the way they fit on day one.

A narrow aisle and clear labels often save more time than choosing the smallest possible room.

Overflow storage works best when it supports a clear operating routine. Group stock by category or sales speed, label every shelf and keep a current count outside the unit. Fast-moving items belong close to the door; reserve the rear for seasonal or reserve stock. Leave enough aisle space to pick an order without moving three other boxes first.

Choose a unit for the busiest realistic month rather than a perfect average, but avoid paying for empty space all year. Review the unit before each seasonal change and ask whether a smaller or larger room is available. Confirm access, delivery and prohibited-use rules with the centre team before building your workflow around the facility.

WHEN A LIST ISN’T ENOUGH

We can usually narrow the choice to two sensible sizes, then explain the difference between compact packing and easier access.
